Levelling chart for campaign rules in D&D Adventure System
For use with Castle Ravenloft, Wrath of Ashardalaon or Legend of Drizzt:
NEW VERSION:
OLD VERSION:
BASIC CAMPAIGN RULES
They need more road testing and currently only go up to Level 5, but since you asked here are my current rules for campaign play:
For each level you gain +2HP, +1 AC, +1 Surge Value plus:
Level 2 = 1 new Daily
Level 3 = 1 new Utility
Level 4 = 1 new At Will
Level 5 = 1 new Daily
And the cost for levelling is:
Level 2 = 10XP (you can still level up to Level 2 using 5XP and a natural 20, but not to Level 3+)
Level 3 = 20XP
Level 4 = 30XP
Level 5 = 40XP
You'd have to make a note of XP between adventures though because the monster cards need shuffling back into the deck to restock the dungeon each time.
Also, no hero can reach a new Level until all Heroes have caught up to his current level, so you couldn't have a Level 5 hero in the same party as a Level 1 hero for example.
To scale the game to fit tougher heroes, you start drawing Monster Tokens (from Castle Ravenloft) instead of just placing one Monster when you draw a new tile:
1 creature for Hero Levels 1-2
1-2 creatures for Hero Levels 2-3
1-3 creatures for Hero Levels 3-4 (with minor villains mixed in)
2-3 creatures for Hero Levels 4-5 (with all villains mixed in)
I'll post more details once I have the campaign rules down, but further scaling - using randomised Objective tiles - will also mean that the higher level heroes will have to go further into the dungeon to win, i.e. objective tiles start getting placed further down the tile stack (12th-15th instead of 9th-12th, for example).

Lovecraft ambience soundscape 1920s music
I've mixed some 1920s music and drones and FX together to make some soundscapes for our games of Arkham Horor and I thought I'd share them with you.
Part 1 is a soundscape for a short film, set in HP Lovecraft's 1920's Cthulhu mythos. Consists of wind, rain, thunder, 1920s music, some monster FX, church bells, drones, etc. It can be found here:

Part 2 opens with a more nautical portside theme, some effed up music FX, drones, and then segueing into a nighttime scenario towards the end.

Playable Strahd Scenario for Castle Ravenloft
PACT OF BLOOD
You fought long and hard to conquer Barovia. Many of your men died in order for you to unseat the Lord of Castle Ravenloft and take his place. After the tumultuous, wandering years of your youth, all the violence, all the warring, you finally had a home. A home you had earned through military prowess and cunning. You called your family to you and they came. The Land of Barovia was yours.
But then you met the girl. The infernal, damnable, cursed village woman. Tatyana. The most beautiful creature you had ever seen. After she rejected your advances you thought your heart would burst from the agony of denial. And then to add insult to injury your spiteful brother, Sergei, swept her off her feet. After everything you had done for him! Finding him a haven from his exile and providing for him! Their relationship blossomed as you watched them from the shadows.
And now it has come to this. You, the Lord of Barovia, unwelcome in your own beloved Castle. Whilst the treacherous couple are to be wed this very day. Alone, you pace the long grass under the green canopy of trees, over-shadowed by the towering fortress that suddenly seems so uninviting. Your blood boils at the impudence of their deceit. Your own brother stealing the only woman you have ever truly loved! An image of his twisted face fills your vision, and you watch as he embraces her, he looks at you over her shoulder sneering with pure malevolence.
The sun burns low and red. A growing black mist infuses the darkening landscape around you as the time of their wedding ceremony approaches. Through the pain and anger and tears, clarity suddenly falls upon you and soothes your mind. Exercising years of intense warrior training you channel your growing rage and approach the entrance to the crypts of Castle Ravenloft. You know what must be done. You must stop this outrage from taking place!
